King & Wood Mallesons demonstrates regional prowess in M&A league tables
King & Wood Mallesons has performed well in the Mergermarket M&A league tables for the first three quarters of 2013. According to the tables, in 2013 the firm has advised on the lion’s share of the deals in the Asia-Pacific (excluding Japan), ranking first for volume of transactions and second on value with $34.7bn (£22bn) worth of deals — a 50 per cent increase since 2012.
King & Wood Mallesons said the regional rankings reflect the law firm’s concerted effort to win back market share by becoming the firm of choice for a broader range of transactions, with a strategic focus on the mid-market deals in addition to top-end, high-value transactions.
The law firm also doubled the value of its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) work in China, topping the rankings for both value and volume after advising on 33 transactions worth $28.5bn during the first three quarters of 2013. This figure marks a 96 per cent increase for the same period in 2012.
