Karanovic & Nikolic senior partner presents at Serbia mining conference
Miloš Vučković, senior partner at Karanovic & Nikolic, has participated in and presented at the Third International Conference on Mineral Resources in the Republic of Serbia — A Driving Force of Economic Development, which took place at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade on 1 November 2013.
Hosting approximately 300 business and political decision makers, the mining conference provided a platform for discussions on major topics on mineral resources in the country, new government policies in the mining sector, the contribution of the mining sector to the country’s economic recovery, Serbia’s mining deposits and projects and their available financing.
Vučković held a presentation on the panel ‘Available Financing of Mining Projects’ and his presentation was titled ‘Selected Tendencies in Mining Finance’. It featured local and global tendencies and possibilities related to financing mining projects.
Vučković also raised a number of important aspects regarding the applicability of the relevant legislation in aspects of financing, as well as a number of challenges to be dealt with in the future, as a precondition for increase in project finance and alternative financing models in Serbia’s mining sector.
