Karanovic & Nikolic hosts PPA and energy finance event
Karanovic & Nikolic hosted a working breakfast focused on PPA and energy finance at its offices on Resavska 23 for financiers, regulators and industry figures.
Discussions included financing and the bankability of energy projects, what amendments the industry would like to see implemented, clearing the gaps where bankability issues arise, EU community obligations and how to make change happen so that Serbia has a sustainable framework.
During the panel discussion led by Karanovic & Nikolic partner Milos Vuckovic, assistant minister from the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Dejan Trifunović, discussed the recent activities of the ministry and the efforts that it is making towards putting a fair, balanced and transparent regulatory framework into place in order to support foreign and domestic investments, particularly in the renewables sector.
The panel also hosted Dimitar Dimitrovski, a legal specialist with the Balkan Renewable Energy Program of the International Finance Corporation and Maja Turković, an independent expert and former spokesperson of SEWEA (Serbian Wind Energy Association).
