Intellectual property team from SJ Pluke integrates into Eversheds South Africa
Eversheds has hired Sara-Jane Pluke as a partner and head of intellectual property (IP) in South Africa. She is joined by Lilia Bordelieva-Baptista and Natalia Androliakos, who join the IP department as associates. The team has joined Eversheds following the integration of SJ Pluke Attorneys into Eversheds South Africa.
Pluke is a specialist in the IP field, advising a variety of clients on various aspects of IP, including trademarks, copyright, technical know-how, web-based mechanisms and platforms, industrial designs, brand protection and enforcement, IP portfolio management, commercial agreements, alternative dispute resolution and litigation.
She has wide-ranging experience and recently assisted a major motor vehicle replacement parts organisation in successfully defending a design patent and trademark infringement case brought against it. She has also in the past assisted a major telecommunications client in successfully defending a competitor complaint brought against it in the Advertising Standards Authority tribunal, against this client’s use of the colour Orange as its brand face.
