Ince & Co wins Deal of the Year award at Lloyd’s List Awards Asia 2013
At the Lloyd’s List Asia Awards 2013, which were announced on 26 November in Singapore, Ince & Co Hong Kong won the Deal of the Year award for its work involving financing container vessels.
The firm was recognised for its work for three major Asian banks in relation to the financing of three 13,200-teu container vessels for a major Hong Kong ship owner under a Japanese operating lease structure with the aggregate loan amount of $320m (£195m).
The deal was led by Hong Kong business and finance partners David Beaves and Gary Wong and involved Japanese operating lease documentation that has evolved from Japanese tax leasing involving aircraft, including an overlay of standard ship financing documentation, and is one of the first such transactions to be used for vessels.
