Hogan Lovells co-hosts school event to mark National Voter Registration Day
Hogan Lovells has co-hosted an event with social enterprise Bite the Ballot at the Elizabeth Garret Anderson (EGA) school in Islington to mark National Voter Registration Day.
Ten Hogan Lovells trainees worked with a team from Bite the Ballot to deliver a programme of educational materials and interactive activities to more than 100 year-11 pupils at EGA, designed to equip the students with knowledge of the Parliamentary democracy and in particular to help them understand the importance of voting and encourage them to register to vote.
As a result, 101 students have already registered to vote.
Hogan Lovells’ public law and policy team is also working with Bite the Bullet and other organisations to develop and promote legislative amendments that facilitate voter registration, particularly among young people.
