Hogan Lovells advises Actavis on $100m acquisition of Silom Medical Company
Hogan Lovells has advised Actavis on its acquisition of Silom Medical Company for approximately $100m (£60m) in cash. The law firm’s team was led by Hong Kong partner Tim Fletcher and consultant Charles Butcher, supported by senior associate Tamsin Doran and associate Valerie Fung.
Actavis is a global speciality pharmaceutical company headquartered in Dublin. Silom Medical is a privately held generic pharmaceutical company focused on developing and marketing therapies in Thailand.
The acquisition of Silom Medical allows Actavis to enhance its presence in the Thai pharmaceutical market and create a foundation for Actavis’s continued expansion across the south-east Asian region.
Working with local counsel in Thailand, Hogan Lovells was able to provide the relevant cross-jurisdictional corporate and regulatory advice to help Actavis successfully complete the transaction.
