Gateley raises more than £800 for Leicester Animal Rescue
Following a year of fundraising activity, Gateley’s Leicester office has raised more than £800 for local charity Leicester Animal Rescue.
Every year, each of the firm’s regional offices nominates a local charity to benefit from its fundraising efforts. Championed by commercial dispute resolution solicitor Gail Whyte, Leicester Animal Rescue was chosen due to its tireless efforts looking after and re-homing abandoned cats and dogs. The charity, which runs a shelter and shop, aims to give animals a long-term home.
In addition to raising money by dress-down days, cake sales and raffles, the Leicester office participated in a number of one-off events. These included a corporate relay, a Halloween pumpkin carving competition and Leicester Animal Rescue’s annual dog walk, held at Rutland Water. The walk, which raised more than £1,900 in 2013, will be held this year on 7 September. The office also donated items such as clothing, ornaments and kitchen utensils to the charity’s city-centre shop.
Gateley’s Leicester office has nominated Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance as its local charity for the coming year.
