Gateley has record year of fundraising
Following a record-breaking fundraising year, Gateley has handed over a cheque for more than £1,700 to Maggie’s Nottingham Cancer Centre. The centre provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
Every year, each of the firm’s regional offices nominates a local charity to benefit its fundraising efforts. Fundraising for Maggie’s Nottingham Cancer Centre was championed by Gateley’s East Midlands corporate director, Rob Metcalfe, who had previously been on the charity’s board of directors and played a key role in setting up its Nottingham centre.
In addition to dress-down days, bake sales and raffles, the Nottingham office raised money via a number of one-off events. One member of staff participated in a 10km race, while a team of women raised more than £500 competing in the Robin Hood half-marathon corporate relay in September 2013.
