Franchise Times recognises success of DLA Piper’s franchise and distribution practice
DLA Piper’s franchise and distribution practice has been recognised among Franchise Times’ 2014 Dealmakers of the Year.
The publication highlighted DLA Piper’s representation of Roark Capital in its purchase of CKE, which was led by partners Richard Greenstein and Richard Morey and included more than 3,400 Carl’s Jr and Hardee’s restaurants in 42 states and 30 foreign countries.
The firm also advised Hyatt Hotels on its $325m (£194m) investment in Playa Resorts, which operates 13 all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Dealmakers of the Year designations were based on nominations for transactions completed between July 2012 and December 2013 and were decided by a 13-member panel of judges, all experts in franchise finance, who considered criteria that included deal complexity and impact on company performance.
