Eversheds comments on news that EU is ready to lift duty on most US goods
Eversheds has commented on the news that the European Union (EU) is ready to lift duty on most US goods, stating that the deal brings both opportunities and concerns.
David Savage, international trade expert at Eversheds, said: ‘The removal of trade barriers between the EU and the US represents a fantastic opportunity for companies wishing to export goods to foreign markets, which might have previously been inaccessible because of prohibitive tariffs.
‘That said, for those who focus solely on their own “domestic” markets, be they the EU or US, there will be some natural and legitimate worries over potential undercutting by foreign imports.’
