DLA Piper recognised as leader in venture capital deal volume in PitchBook report
DLA Piper is one of the most active law firms in terms of venture capital (VC) deal volume, according to the ‘2013 Most Active VC Law Firms’ report published by PitchBook, a research and business information services firm serving the venture capital and private equity markets.
The firm tied second for ‘2013’s Most Active VC Law Firms Globally’ based on 225 deals registered with PitchBook, and was also ranked second for ‘Most Active in the US’ as well as one of the top firms in most regions evaluated in the report, including New England, Mid-Atlantic, West Coast and Europe.
DLA Piper was the most active firm in late-stage VC deals and the third most active in early-stage VC deals.
In the last five years, the firm has consistently ranked among the top two law firms in global VC deal volume by Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst. In 2013, the firm reported that it had completed 1,044 financing transactions, including 580 venture capital and 464 private equity deals.
