DLA Piper advises Michelin on renegotiation of F&A outsourcing contract
DLA Piper Paris has advised tyre manufacturer Michelin on the renegotiation of a major outsourcing contract with Xerox, in relation to the finance and accounting (F&A) processes of the Michelin Group.
Michelin initiated a major transformation of its finance function in 2006. In order to improve overall performance, reduce costs and enhance overall quality, the company decided to outsource its global F&A operations to Xerox in 2007.
The solution focused on transitioning Michelin’s European activities to Xerox locations in Barcelona, for helpdesk and language-dependent activities, and in Manila, where back-office transaction processing is handled.
DLA Piper was recently instructed to assist Michelin in renewing the contract with Xerox, including advising on the expansion of the geographic scope and services. The team was led by DLA Piper partner Stéphane Lemarchand and counsel Jonathan Rofé, in close co-ordination with Laurent Geelhand, GC Europe at Michelin.
