DLA Piper advises Healthcare Buying Group on its acquisition of DBG
DLA Piper has advised Healthcare Buying Group, a company backed by The Carlyle Group and Palamon Capital Partners, on its acquisition of DBG (UK) from Synova Capital.
Operating for more than 20 years, DBG is a specialist healthcare support services provider of training, compliance support, engineering, materials and equipment. Using a membership-based model, the company works alongside around 8,000 dental, GP and veterinary practices throughout the UK and is headquartered in Winsford, Cheshire.
The Carlyle Group and Palamon Capital Partners acquired Integrated Dental Holdings (IDH) in 2011. IDH reportedly operates the largest healthcare practice network in the UK and the transaction will allow greater co-operation with DBG. While the two businesses will be part of the same investment vehicle, DBG will remain independent and will benefit from the expertise of the investors.
The DLA Piper team was led by partner Jonathan Watkins, who was supported by partner Catherine Simister and associate Anna Hopper.
