DLA advises Leroy Merlin on construction and opening of second Kyiv hypermarket
DLA Piper has advised European DIY retail network Leroy Merlin on the construction and opening of its second hypermarket in Brovarskyi prospect 3V in Kyiv, with the intention of further expansion throughout Ukraine in future.
The transaction consisted of an acquisition of a Ukrainian company that held the land titles for the plot and subsequent construction of the hypermarket.
DLA Piper advised on various corporate, tax, finance and projects and real-estate matters throughout the transaction.
The team working on this transaction was led by Natalia Kochergina, partner and head of real estate in Ukraine, and included Dmytro Pikalov (real estate, senior associate), Sergiy Portnoy (real estate, associate), Illya Sverdlov (tax, legal director) and Illya Muchnyk (finance and projects, legal director).
