Debevoise lawyer elected President of the Conseil National des Barreaux
Debevoise & Plimpton has announced that the Conseil National des Barreaux (CNB) has elected Jean-Marie Burguburu, a Debevoise lawyer, as president.
Burguburu, a former bâtonnier of the Paris Bar and an experienced trial lawyer, joined Debevoise & Plimpton’s Paris office in 2011 as ‘of counsel’, and will continue to focus on the development of the firm’s Paris-based litigation practice.
The election was held at a plenary session the elective assembly of the CNB on September 6, 2013.
The CNB is the French national bar association created by national legislation in 1990. It represents the legal profession in interactions with the government and in relations with members of the profession in other countries, and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the profession in France.
