Dacheng team is retained as standing legal counsel for Xinjiang Daily
Dacheng’s Urumqi-based team led by senior partner Yang Shuwen has been retained as standing legal counsel for Xinjiang Daily for a third consecutive year.
Yang will be assisted by attorneys Yu Xiaoyan, Xu Xuemei and Li Jin during the agreed term of service.
Xinjiang Daily is the official newspaper of the Communist Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. It is the only newspaper in China published in four languages: Chinese, Uygur, Kazakh and Mongolian.
During Yang’s term as the newspaper’s legal counsel, she has advised on administrative law, civil and commercial law, intellectual property and contract law, offered legal training for the staff and represented the newspaper in copyright cases.
Yang is also legal counsel for a number of Xinjiang-based culture and art institutions, such as the Cultural Affairs Department of Xijiang, Xinjiang Pictorial, Xinjiang Fine Art Academy and Xinjiang City News.
