Dacheng hosts conference with First Law International at Shanghai office
On 8 November 2013, Dacheng’s Shanghai office and international lawyers’ association First Law International (FLI) held a conference that considered issues such as China’s antitrust and anti-commercial bribery law enforcement efforts and how FLI can enhance regional co-operation.
The conference was attended by FLI president Orlando Casares, attorneys from South Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Hong Kong and in-house counsel and senior executives from multinationals such as Gore and Owenscorning.
Sun Qingnan, director of Dacheng Shanghai’s international practice and attorneys Dai Jianmin, Wang Xin and Zhang Genwang participated in the conference. FLI’s involvement also engaged the interests of its members in Thailand, Australia and Taiwan, who took part via teleconference.
The conference began with an introduction to the participating guests and a brief account on the development of FLI. Then Jianmin talked briefly about the latest development of China’s antitrust and anti-commercial bribery law enforcement efforts.
In the afternoon, the guests discussed how FLI could enhance regional co-operation, followed by Genwang’s speech on the subject of non-compete clause and the protection of trade secrets. Zhang initiated more topic-driven discussions afterwards.
