Tlek Baigabulov graduated from the Kazakh State University named after Al-Farabi (Almaty), Faculty of Law, in 1992. He started his career as a lawyer and a member of the arbitration board at Almaty Stock Exchange. He also graduated from the school of managers at the Kazakh State Technical University after VI Lenin.
In 1992, in co-operation with friends, Baigabulov established a firm that is now one of the leading law firms in the Central Asia and Caspian Region — GRATA Law Firm. Baigabulov is a senior partner of the firm.
Baigabulov is a member of the board of the Kazakh Petroleum Lawyers’ Association, co-author of the book Comments to Presidential Decree On Subsoil and author of several articles in the national and local press.
As a member of the Almaty City Bar Association and the Union of Lawyers of Kazakhstan, he specialises in protecting businesses against persecution of the fiscal authorities.
A large role Baigabulov pays to social work, where the main direction is the creation of a positive image of the country in the eyes of international public, alongside law reform.
Baigabulov speaks Kazakh, Russian and English.
