Robert Botkai, head of licensing at Winckworth Sherwood, has been quoted in an article in the Forecourt Trader publication.
The article looks at the recent opening of a Wetherspoon pub on the M40 near Beaconsfield and how many people wrongly believe that the sale of alcohol at motorway service stations is prohibited.
Botkai stated: ‘What the law says is that a licence that authorises the sale of alcohol will have no effect on “excluded premises”.’ He went on to explain what is meant by the term ‘excluded premises’.
