Article on pubs at motorway services quotes Winckworth Sherwood’s Botkai
Robert Botkai, head of licensing at Winckworth Sherwood, has been quoted in an article in the Forecourt Trader publication.
The article looks at the recent opening of a Wetherspoon pub on the M40 near Beaconsfield and how many people wrongly believe that the sale of alcohol at motorway service stations is prohibited.
Botkai stated: ‘What the law says is that a licence that authorises the sale of alcohol will have no effect on “excluded premises”.’ He went on to explain what is meant by the term ‘excluded premises’.
