Ambassador Attilio Massimo Iannucci joins NCTM as of-counsel
Ambassador Attilio Massimo Iannucci, an expert in international law, has joined NCTM Studio Legale Associato as of-counsel. He will be responsible for the development of business relations between Italy and China, allowing for the further development of the Shanghai office.
Iannucci graduated in law at the University of Rome and in political science at the University of Florence. He began his activities at the Direzione Generale degli Affari Politici (Department of General Political Affairs) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972, after passing the admissions process for a diplomatic career.
He was posted to Lausanne in 1975 as consul; to the Italian Embassy in Cairo in 1979 as counsellor; to Beirut in 1987 as first counsellor; and to Beijing in 1991 as minister-counsellor.
Iannucci returned to Italy in 1995 and was appointed head of the special secretariat of the secretary of state, and in 1998 was promoted to minister plenipotentiary and acted as deputy director-general for economic co-operation and development.
From 2003 to 2007 he was the ambassador of Italy in Albania and from 2007 to 2010 director-general for countries in Asia, Oceania, the Pacific and Antarctica. He later served as special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
From 2010 to 2012, he was Ambassador of Italy in China.
