Allen & Overy's antitrust partners set to speak at conference on competition law and policy

Allen & Overy antitrust partners Silvia D’Alberti and Antonio Bavasso are due to speak at a conference on the Main Developments in European Union and National Competition Law, organised by the Italian Antitrust Association in co-operation with the Italian Association of Company Lawyers and MLEX. The event will take place on 31 May and 1 June 2013.

The event, which will be opened by the president of the Italian Competition Authority, is the major annual conference for competition law and policy in Italy.

Bavasso will be among the panellists and will speak on competition law and intellectual property, discussing topics such as the role of antitrust in the evaluation of intellectual property rights, US and EU comparative experiences in standard setting, Standard Essential Patents, FRAND, royalty settings and abuse of dominant position, and open versus proprietary systems.

D’Alberti, head of Allen & Overy’s Italian practice, is a member of the Associazione Antitrust Italiana’s board of directors.
