Central London firm Finers has placed a £50,000 order with Axxia Systems.
The order calls for an integrated IT system, comprising networked PCs, a Unix server from Digital Equipment and software to connect the firm's fee earners to central information resources.
At the core is Axxia's Arista practice management system which includes Fee Earner Desktop, the Arista Windows client.
This module enables fee earners to interact with the system as well as benefit from its time recording facility. The system also integrates document management, in the form of Softsolutions 4.1 and Novell's Wordperfect 6.1 for Windows.
Philip Mitchell, Finers' practice director, said: "The system represents a significant investment which we estimate will pay dividends in increased fee earner productivity and improvements in client service."
Andrew Levison, of Grant Thornton, and Finers IT manager Susanne Jones were responsible for evaluating the technology.
