West End property firm Finers Stephens Innocent is facing a massive restructure after its managing partner Richard Gerstein stepped down.
The firm has brought in consultants who have recommended splitting its strategy and management boards before the practice continues with its growth.
Senior partner Peter Jay will head the new strategy board, while new managing partner Anthony Barling - currently head of corporate and commercial - leads the management board.
The firm is expanding aggressively. At the end of last year, Finers merged with niche media firm Stephens Innocent, and at the beginning of this year it took a team of five partners from collapsing firm Edward Lewis.
Gerstein says he is standing down to concentrate on clients after three years at the helm.
He says: "During my term I have seen the firm grow into a successful player in our strategic markets of property, media and corporate finance.
"I have a growing number of clients in the hotel sector and want to provide them with greater personal input."
Barling says he will continue with the expansion. He says: "Our strategy is now to secure our position in our strategic markets and raise our profile as a mid-sized player."
