Fladgate Fielder has appointed its first professional financial analyst following a period of record growth, which saw last year's turnover grow by nearly 26 per cent to £14.1m.
Joanna Brown joins Fladgate Fielder from IT contract agency MSB International later this month. Her mandate is to create an action plan for future growth to go before the firm's partnership board. Brown will focus on areas such as repeat business and cross selling, as well as analysing the firm's top 100 clients and identifying future growth areas.
Though common in the City, the 35-partner West End firm is unusual in making such an appointment.
Cohen says: "Five years ago the idea would have been frowned upon. There was less forward thinking and planning then. We've got to analyse what we've got, which will mean ditching unprofitable areas as well as increasing the profitable ones."
