Ashurst Morris Crisp (Mike Logie) acted for Crédit Agricole Indosuez as arranger on a $48.9m (£28m) synthetic collateralised debt obligation (CDO). The firm also advised the London branch of Bank of New York, the trustee and agents on the deal. Walkers (Julian Black) advised the issuer, ABSolute II Synthetic CDO.
Charles Russell (Simon Gilbert) assisted brokers Collins Stewart on a loan notes-to-shares reorganisation for Jupiter Global Green Investment Trust. The proposal, still subject to shareholder approval, will convert issued participating loan notes into two new classes of shares – redeemable and participating. Norton Rose acted for Jupiter.
Uría & Menéndez advised Europea De Titulización as managing company on the incorporation of the asset securitisation fund Bancaja 6, and the subsequent issue of mortgage-backed securities for more than E2bn (£1.4bn). The deal represents the largest Spanish mortgage-backed securities transaction to date. The firm also acted for Morgan Stanley and Dresdner as lead managers and underwriters of the issue of the securities.
CMS Cameron McKenna acted for Informa Group on the cash box placing of shares. The placing raised around £37m, with proceeds set to part finance Informa’s proposed £120m acquisition of PJB Publications. Ashurst Morris Crisp advised underwriter UBS Investment Bank.
