Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) has won a role advising on a franchising deal for Thomas Pink with a subsidiary of India’s largest company that will result in the luxury shirt brand opening offices stores across India.
Thomas Pink has entered into a franchising agreement with Reliance Brands, part of Indian giant Reliance Industries, with the first store set to open later this year in South Mumbai. Ten stores are planned in India within five years.
London franchising partner Graeme Payne led for Thomas Pink alongside IP partner Victoria Hobbs..
FFW has advised the shirt maker on foreign ventures in the past, including its franchise agreement in the United Arab Emirates and its entry into South Africa.
Reliance did not hire outside lawyers, turning to an in-house team.
