Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) and WilmerHale advised on the $20m (£10.5m) sale of 80 per cent of Vatrin Investment to Canadian mining company Dundee Precious Metals. Toronto Stock Exchange-listed Vatrin is the owner of the Deno Gold Mining Company, the chief asset of which is the Kapan Mining Project in southern Armenia. In addition to the $22m (£11.55m) payment, the deal includes a $10m (£5.25m) investment commitment for mine expansion. FFW represented Dundee, led by partner Anne Cruikshank. WilmerHale advised Vatrin, led by partner Michael Holter, winning the work via a referral from Swiss firm Dr Patrick Nützi Attorneys-at-Law.
