Telecoms company UK Broadband has appointed its first general counsel to lead the development of its in-house legal department.
Katrina Dick joins the firm from Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW), where she was a partner in the technology law group, specialising in TMT work from both regulatory and commercial perspectives.
“It’s a new general counsel role, established because the business is building up,” Dick explained. “This is an exciting time for me to work with the business. I like working with a business and helping it grow.”
UK Broadband is the UK subsidiary of PCCW, one of Asia’s biggest information and communication technology companies, which launched in the UK in June last year.
Dick added: “We’re a UK start-up but we have a huge infrastructure behind us. The aim is to build up a new legal team as the business grows.”
Dick, who started at the company earlier this month, joined FFW in 2008 from Hogan Lovells legacy firm Lovells, where she was of counsel in the technology group.
