US firm Bryan Cave's London office has picked up corporate partner Robert Wieder from Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW). The firm's London managing partner Anthony Fiducia confirmed the hire of Wieder, who has been with FFW for nine years. Many of Wieder's clients in China and the US were demanding attention, with the experienced corporate lawyer citing Bryan Cave's international jurisdiction as a key factor in leaving FFW. The news acts as a warning to FFW that it risks losing some of its key talent if it does not increase its international outlook. An experienced corporate lawyer, Wieder handled a series of matters last year including the £96m acquisition of AIM-listed TRL Electronics by US company L-3 Communications, on which he advised the target.
