Senior management figures at Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) are set to report back to partners about the firm’s potential £200m merger with Osborne Clarke at its annual partnership meeting next month as tie-up talks steamroll ahead.
FFW has scheduled its regular partners’ conference on 30 November at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, with partners expecting to be updated on the merger discussions, which are understood to be making swift progress.
The meeting is the firm’s standing annual partnership retreat, which takes place in late November each year, although the firm has occasionally held additional conferences in March.
An FFW spokesperson said the agenda for the conference was still being worked on and said nothing had been circulated to partnership in relation to it.
One FFW partner said merger talks with Osborne Clarke were “progressing”. The partner also suggested FFW’s brand was likely to be incorporated into the combined entity’s name, despite indications that the deal is widely being seen as a takeover by Osborne Clarke. No decisions about names have been made yet.

Something like "Osborne Waterhouse" or "Osborne Clarke Waterhouse" would work well.

FFW are not only dead in the water but also hopelessly divided.
Will be interesting to see if the non-TMT majority at FFW will veto this takeover, since TMT vetoed the LG merger.
