Rijckaert will join the team at the start of September from Bird & Bird, where he was head of the Brussels employment team.
The hire follows the recent appointments of corporate partner Marie Evrard and pensions partner Corinne Merla to the Brussels office.
Rijckaert has also worked for Allen & Overy, and before that was general counsel for Ericsson in Belgium.
Field Fisher Waterhouse Brussels managing partner Eric Cusas said Rijckaert's employment expertise should prove an asset to the firm, especially at the European level.
"We are continuing to grow our Brussels office and his appointment will bring the total number of lawyers up to 21 following on from the recent appointments of Marie Evrard and Corinne Merla," he said.
The firm's head of employment Margaret Davis said Rijckaert's knowledge of Belgian labour law and awareness of the issues across European would be an advantage for the firm.
