Fasken hires eight-strong team from Howard Kennedy

Fasken Martineau has boosted its London office after completing the hire of an eight-strong projects team from Howard Kennedy.

The transfer marks what was understood to be a drawn-out departure process for the team from Howard Kennedy, with the individuals leaving in various stages.

Together they amass expertise in contentious and non-contentious work in aviation and energy with key clients including Kuwait Airways.

The group includes four partners - Chris Gooding, Dani Azmi, Philip Kornbluth and Philip Leacock - who are thought to have turned down equity at the new firm.

They are joined by Alex Ferrari as counsel, Sukhi Kaler as an associate and Victoria Mundy and Emma Bradley as trainees.

Mundy began working at Howard Kennedy as a secretary and PA, before bagging a training contract, which has been transferred over to Fasken Martineau.

A spokesperson for Howard Kennedy said: “What [Howard Kennedy] has done is shifted the projects focus away from aviation. The emphasis is on areas for recovery.”
