Farrer & Co has continued its recent recruitment drive, snaring the services of highly rated family barrister Jeremy Posnansky QC from 1 Hare Court.
Posnansky, who took silk in 1994, represented Kenneth Miller in the May 2006 House of Lords landmark divorce ruling by the Law Lords that saw his ex-wife Julia be awarded 250,000 a year for life.
In the past month the firm has hired competition barrister Christopher Brown from the Competition Appeal Tribunal, finance partner Simon Graham from O’Melveny Myers, head of contentious trusts and estates Toby Graham from Taylor Wessing and tax partner Russell Cohen from Lawrence Graham.
Posnansky, who also acted for Kimberley Quinn in the proceedings with David Blunkett, has a practice that is exclusively devoted to family law, principally in high-value international ancillary relief cases. He will join Farrers family team from 1 May.
Farrers head of family Richard Parry said: “[This hire] marks our determination to re-affirm our position as one of the leading matrimonial practices in the country”.
Posnansky said: “One area I’m keen to develop is mediation. Farrers already offer specialist mediation, and I hope to develop it further in years to come”.
