Farrer & Co has made a double raid on Wedlake Bell, poaching two corporate lawyers, including the firm’s former practice head.
Wedlake's corporate partner Adam Walker and associate Jaideep Bal will both join Farrers, Bal as a partner, giving the firm’s mid-market focussed practice seven corporate partners.
Walker had been corporate head at Wedlakes for four years, and the AIM specialisation he and Bal bring will expand Farrers corporate offering from media and publishing, partnerships and sports and sponsorship.
Farrers corporate head Richard Lane said: “There is increased demand for transactional expertise from our clients and Adam’s experience in the mid market complements the work we are already doing within the team.
“We are very excited about the potential for the new corporate team [with] enhanced mid-market transaction capacity.”
The raid leaves Wedlakes with four partners in the corporate department, including corporate head Chris Putt.
