Farrers appoints joint senior partners as Furber steps down

Farrer & Co has appointed Jim Edmondson and Richard Parry as joint senior partners to succeed James Furber from 1 May.

Furber, who was elected in 2008 (25 February 2008), is to return to full time practice.

Private client lawyer Edmondson joined the firm in 2001 and headed the firm’s international and onshore private client teams. Parry, who specialises in family law and contentious trust matters, trained with the firm and rose to head its disputes and media team, where clients include News International.

In a statement, partnership secretary Sue Shale said: “We wish to record our considerable thanks to James for his immense contribution during his tenure. James has been senior partner during a period of unprecedented economic turmoil in which the firm has continued to thrive.

“Jim and Richard are two eminent practitioners who share a common aspiration for the firm. They are both private client lawyers whose successful practices have taken them into both institutional and corporate work.”
