A team of CMS Cameron McKenna trainees proved there’s more to lawyers than paper shuffling by winning the Prospects Cup. The five-month competition had 145 teams devise a business strategy for a company that produces and sells its product in six different countries. The victorious Camerons team included Ziad Mantoura, Simon Thomson, Catherine Beckett, Karishma Chandhyoke and Lara Kesterton.
Team captain Mantoura said: “In the final we had to contend with a number of unexpected events such as fuel surcharges, sudden interest rate hikes, an unannounced 40 per cent windfall tax and even a threatened terrorist attack on our factories.”
All this success begs the question: will they still want a career in the law?
