US firm Faegre & Benson has ramped up its Frankfurt office with an eight-lawyer raid on German firm Heussen, leaving Heussen's Frankfurt operation with just three lawyers.
The hires include the head of the Frankfurt office and former managing director of Heussen Karl Walter.
Georg-René Lubinski is the only remaining partner at Heussen's Frankfurt office.
Horst Daniel, executive partner of Faegre's Frankfurt office, said: "We're delighted to welcome Karl and his colleagues to Faegre & Benson. They add substantial strength and depth to our existing corporate and employment practices in Germany."
Corporate partner Walter brings with him a team of four. His practice includes competition and energy law, as well as corporate work. The other new additions include banking partner Manfred Baumbach and employment partner Nanette Clever, who is joined by two associates.
The raid brings the number of lawyers at Faegre's Germany operation to 17. The Minnesota-headquartered firm has been in Germany since 1991. Its clients include Flextronics, Hutchinson Technology and Japan Airlines.
