Faegre & Benson has raided fellow US firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher hiring a corporate partner to boost its Frankfurt office.
Markus Wenserski, who specialises in private equity and M&A, has left Willkie’s Frankfurt office to join Faegre. Wenserski had been a partner at Willkie since 2004.
Previously, Wenserski was the managing partner of Haarmann Hemmelrath’s Frankfurt office.
The announcement of Wenserski’s departure follows last month’s news (www.thelawyer.com 22 December) that Willkie had poached rated Clifford Chance Frankfurt-based corporate partners Mario Schmidt and Georg Linde for its own Frankfurt office.
However, earlier this month Linde announced his decision to remain at the magic circle firm (www.thelawyer.com 5 January).
In April last year, Faegre ramped up its Frankfurt office with an eight-lawyer raid on German firm Heussen, leaving Heussen's Frankfurt operation with just three lawyers.
The hires included the head of the Frankfurt office and former managing director of Heussen Karl Walter.
