Former Slaughter and May senior partner Tim Clark and former SJ Berwin senior partner David Harrel are teaming up to launch a global investigative company called Proven.
The business will provide admissible evidence on behalf of law firms and general counsel in the areas of multijurisdictional fraud, corruption, money laundering and asset theft.
Proven, which will officially open for business next month, will be the sister company of strategic intelligence firm G3, of which Clark has become deputy chairman. G3, previously known as the Good Governance Group, was set up in 2004 by two former senior executives from Kroll.
Clark told The Lawyer: “We’ll provide advice based on human intelligence, from asset tracing and evidential information to advising people on foreign corrupt practices and compliance with regulatory regimes.”
Clark and Harrel have been among the City’s longest-serving senior partners. Clark, a corporate specialist, was with Slaughters between 2001 and 2008, while Harrel, a litigator, was at SJ Berwin from 1992 to 2006.
