Troen quit Osborne Clarke in November by mutual consent, dashing the firm's Anglo-Nordic ambitions.
The firm has launched with just one other lawyer, but Troen has ambitious expansion plans and aims to grow the practice to around 25 lawyers within 18 months.
Troen told The Lawyer that he took a few months out to consider his options before old contacts began to call with instructions. He set up the office on the back of a large Scandinavian instruction from a major UK-based private equity house. Clients in the drinks, distribution and property industries have followed.
The aim is to create a true Anglo-Danish practice covering corporate finance, banking, commercial and private client work. Troen would also like to act as a project manager for companies investing in Denmark.
