Ex-Lovells partners go independent in Germany

A duo of former Lovells partners have struck out on their own by setting up a firm in Frankfurt.

Corporate partners Hanns-Christian Salger and Thomas Forsterling have established the practice, to be known as Salger Rechtsanwalte, that will focus on Mittelstand, i.e. small to medium-sized, clients.

While the firm intends to grow to around 10 partners it is aiming to ensure that its leverage remains low to keep costs attractive for its Mittelstand clients.

The departures are understood to be amicable and the new firm will occupy Lovells’ old office in Frankfurt; the City firm moved to new premises on March 22.
