A FORMER Ladbrokes legal director has set up his own property law consultancy.
Martin Boxer says he has identified a gap in the market for a consultant capable of taking on an in-house role for companies and institutions which cannot afford to employ a full-time legal team.
Boxer lost his job in the property recession earlier this year when Ladbrokes downsized its property division.
He believes there is a market for a property law consultant capable of either undercutting the fees of lawyers from City firms or acting as a temporary in-house lawyer who can effectively monitor a major deal farming out work if necessary.
"My strong view is there is a need for an in-house lawyer, but there are costs involved. Things haven't improved that much and companies are not prepared to take on people like me full-time," he says.
