Former Dundas & Wilson infrastructure head Andrew Renton has resurfaced at Bird & Bird after leaving the Scottish-headquartered firm in October.
Renton, who also headed the firm’s energy sector group, joined Bird & Bird as a partner on 1 December. His resignation from Dundas is understood to have been announced to the firm’s partnership on 30 September (5 October 2011) shortly after its merger talks with London firm Bircham Dyson Bell emerged (20 September 2011).
Renton joined Dundas in 1999 from Simpson & Marwick, where he was a construction litigation partner.
It follows Bird & Bird’s hire of London energy partners Matt Bonass and Michael Rudd from SNR Denton (14 March 2011) and a number of energy arrivals on continental Europe.
International energy and utilities head John Drake said: “This team has expanded rapidly since its formation, demonstrating what an ideal fit this market is for Bird & Bird’s focused service and international team approach.”
