Eversheds' partner quits for Hammonds

EVERSHEDS' employment department has lost its head partner, Catherine Prest, to Hammond Suddards.

Prest was the head of the employment department at the Leeds office. She will be one of two employment partners operating at Hammonds' Leeds office.

Sue Nickson, national head of employment, says: "Catherine is a major player who will make a huge contribution...we look forward to working with her."

An Eversheds spokesman says: "Naturally we are sorry to see Catherine go, she would have been a heavy hitter in a few years had she stayed with us".

Prest, who was unavail-able for comment, joined in 1993 and had been a partner at Eversheds for less than two years.
