Eversheds' Birmingham office is taking on an employment partner from Hammond Suddards Edge.
Julia Edwards will join in the autumn after spending more than 10 years at Hammonds. She will bring the number of partners in the office's employment and pensions group to six. Edwards, whose clients include Audi and Cheltenham & Gloucester, specialises in retail, publishing and financial services. She says she is joining Eversheds because of its reputation in employment work. Eversheds employment partner David Beswick said: "We're expanding rapidly in Birmingham. The market's growing due to a raft of new legislation and because the populace is becoming more litigious." The Birmingham office acts for a range of clients, including IBM, Diagio, BASF and Rover. Edwards' move follows the departure of property partner Simon Boss, who left Hammonds' Birmingham office for Eversheds in April.
