Eversheds’ Stockholm office is merging with local commercial litigation specialist Södermark in a bid to double its Swedish turnover within a year.

The tie-up will create a 40-lawyer firm with an estimated e8m (£7.21m) turnover, in what a senior partner at a major Swedish firm called a “logical” step.
Eversheds Stockholm managing partner Jonas Bratt will preside over a four-partner board and both firms will enjoy equal representation.
However, seven Södermark lawyers, led by respected partner Torgny Wetterberg, have not come on board, opting instead to launch their own outfit, A1.
Wetterberg said: “My decision was taken a long time ago. I’ve never looked at other firms, including Eversheds, as rivals - you may represent them or take work if they have conflicts.”
Eversheds will operate from Södermark’s offices, with Bratt saying that no staff would lose their jobs.
“We’ll hire both support staff and specialists - four people immediately,” he confirmed.
