Eversheds has raided SJ Berwin for competition partner Lesley Farrell in a boost for the firm’s EU, competition and regulatory group.
Farrell is well known for her competition litigation expertise, in particular with cartel damages actions before the High Court and the Competition Tribunal.
She is currently instructed in behalf of claimants Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in its ‘follow-on damages’ case against Dow, going up against Linklaters’ competition partner Michael Sanders. Dow was one of a number of defendants found by the European Commission to have infringed competition law by fixing the price of synthetic rubber products used in the automobile industry for tyre production.
Previous cases include acting on behalf of Generics UK in having criminal charges relating to cartel activity dismissed following an appeal to the then House of Lords.
