Eversheds snares Collyers education expert

Eversheds has hired Collyer Bristow education partner Geoffrey Mead to join its HR education team.

Mead joins Eversheds’ London office and will be the first partner in the capital dedicated to advising on employment law issues in the education sector.

Eversheds now has more than 30 lawyers practising in this area, within a wider education group of 70. The group is led by Manchester-based partner Diane Gilhooley.

Eversheds’ Education head John Boardman said: “Geoffrey’s appointment strengthens the team and makes it, in our opinion, the most distinguished in the country.”

Mead comes to Eversheds after less than two years at Collyer Bristow, having moved to the firm from a role as head of employment at Reed Smith. Clients include the Association of Colleges and the University of the Arts.

Mead said he was looking forward to helping the Eversheds’ education team develop, and Boardman added that his appointment will help grow the group in London as well as nationally.

Collyer Bristow did not return calls for comment.
