Eversheds raid further weakens Pinsents Manchester

Eversheds has raided Pinsent Masons’ Manchester office for a five-lawyer corporate team including two partners.

Simon Masters and Hannah Kendrick join Eversheds along with one associate and two assistant solicitors.

The news comes just a week after Cobbetts hired Pinsents Manchester private equity partner Paul Johnson and three lawyers, and further dents the firm’s North West offering. Corporate head Sean Fitzgerald defected to Cobbetts in January this year.

However in an ironic twist Pinsents hired corporate partner Helen Ridge from Eversheds’ Manchester office in November last year, together with associate Howard Gill who became a partner at his new firm.

Eversheds’ corporate head Peter Halpin said that Masters’ corporate finance practice would help add an extra dimension to the firm’s offering in the North West.
